About

It began with a cancer diagnosis is July 2015. My son Hugo was just 2 when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. I began to document his experience in a blog – Life, Love and Leukaemia. It was therapeutic for me and I thought it might help him in the future to fully understand what he’d gone through. I also hoped it would be useful to others as similar blogs had been to me.

After 3 years, 2 months and 5 days of treatment, Hugo reached remission in September 2018. It had been a difficult experience, with many bumps in the road and our lives forever changed. But there had been light in the darkness too and I wanted to use my experience and the things I had learnt to do something positive.

From that drive came Life, Love and Little Things. A website not only about our life in remission and the things we love, but also about the little things that people do that can make a big difference. You will find blogs on our experience with childhood cancer and our life in remission. You will also find information and support, should you need it.

The website gradually grew, ideas formed and in April 2021 I launched the Shop Kind Club. A group of small businesses who give to or support charities or social causes in some way. It’s a way of helping people to give back, to make a difference – to shop kind!

Thank you for visiting. I hope you’ve found it useful. Please contact me if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions. I would love to hear from you.
